Ronald E. Hall Colorism Research Scholarship
The Ronald E. Hall Colorism Research Scholarship was created in 2023 by members of the conference committee. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage and support graduate students in the pursuit of research on colorism. Scholarships will be awarded each year during the conference beginning in 2024.
Through sponsorship of the Ronald E. Hall Conference on Colorism and The Colorism Project, Inc., we will be able to provide scholarships to graduate students and look forward to launching the Ronald E. Hall Colorism Research Scholarship with your support.

Note: The Ronald E. Hall Colorism Research Scholarship Committee will begin awarding scholarships in 2024.
Scholarship DescriptionThe purpose of this scholarship is to aid graduate students who show promise within the field of colorism through research.
Number of Scholarships Two scholarships will be awarded each year (depending on funding) beginning in 2024.
Scholarship Focus Applicants’ research must focus on one of following three areas: • The psychological, emotional, physical and social well-being issues caused by colorism.• Innovative ideas related to colorism.• New theories/concepts relative to colorism.
Applicant Criteria (including supporting documentation)• Completed Application. Access the application via the following link: Ronald E. Hall Colorism Research Scholarship. • Applicants should be the primary author of the research, with colorism as a primary component or variable. • Applicants must be enrolled at an accredited institution either in a master’s or doctorate degree program in the United States and registered for the current semester. Proof of Registration required.
• Evidence of academic standing (3.0 or better)- Unofficial transcripts required.
• Support of a faculty member in the form of a “Letter of Recommendation” submitted to scholarship@colorismproject.com.
Personal Statement Submissions must consist of 1000-1500 words and contain the following: • Description of the research focus including methodology, variables, purpose, theoretical framework, theory, questionnaire/survey description, etc. • Academic goals and how they are relative to colorism, diversity, equity, belonging, justice and inclusion.

Hall Conference on Colorism website and the website of the Colorism Project, Inc. (A signed release will be required).
